At first the police are interested in Gigi as the suspect so she starts asking some questions. When they declare the death an accident, Gigi is determined to clear her name and save her business. Despite what the police think, she is convinced that this was murder.

Since the victim was also her landlord, Gigi is afraid of losing her little cottage. All the more reason to find out who committed the murder. Somehow, Gigi also finds herself taking in the dead woman's dog, since the ex-husband can't stand Reg.

As Gigi starts asking questions, she discovers that the victim was not a popular woman. There are many who had reason to want her dead. Gigi starts getting threats the more she investigates. Even Gigi's friends had reasons for wishing her dead.

Gigi will need to use all her Irish temper and Italian attitude as she learns more and more about the murder. ALLERGIC TO DEATH is the first book in a series that has great potential to be popular. Placed in a small town with some interesting characters and even better recipes, your mouth will water as you read this book. The murder was well-plotted. Even though I deduced the identity of the killer early on, there were just enough conflicting clues to make readers a little uncertain of who committed the dead. I look forward to the next installment.
