Kathleen loves Mayville Heights and the friends she has made there. Her job was supposed to be temporary and she has a decision to make about staying or returning to her hometown and family. She and Detective Marcus Gordon are just starting to form a relationship. The uncertainty makes life a little hard.
When Mike is found dead, Kathleen finds herself drawn into another case even though Marcus specifically asks her not to investigate. However, will all the clues pointing to someone the whole town likes, Kathleen is sucked into the investigation.
With Owen and Hercules at her side, Kathleen will have no choice but to become involved. Kathleen and her cats with their unique talents make an unbeatable trio of detectives.
This is an entertaining series with the unusual characteristics of the cats. It's always a pleasure to read about characters that are happy with their lives even as they look back with fondness at the past. The question of whether or not Kathleen stays has not been answered but my personal hope is she will stay put.
The strong friendships she has formed and her love of Mayville Heights have me hoping she will stay put. One of the things I most enjoy about this series is the cats help Kathleen find clues but she solves the mysteries.
