Miss Julia has just put Sam on a plane to the Holy Land when J.D called. Miss Julia was only able to hear two words. When they try to track him down, no one knows where he is. With Sam out of town and J.D. missing, Miss Julia will have no choice but to take action.

Leaving Lillian at home, Miss Julia and Etta Mae will head to the wilds of West Virginia trying to track down a man who fits J.D.'s description. The man was found with an infected gunshot wound and no ID. He's being treated at the local hospital but the sheriff won't let them see him. Miss Julia kidnaps J. D. and takes him back to North Carolina.

The Miss Julia novels are something I look forward to with great anticipation. It's fascinating to see what trouble Miss Julia manages to get into each time she gets involved in some kind of rescue. Highly entertaining with unusual plots and some wonderful characters, these books are not to be missed. Ms. Ross has brought her characters to life. It is impossible to put these books down. Here's hoping for many more Miss Julia novels.
