Celia Wird and her three sisters prefer to keep a low profile, but since helping the vampires they can no longer hide from the supernatural community. Unfortunately, their weirdness seems to attract trouble. Case in point is the dead shifter on their porch who had been keeping them under surveillance, or at least he had pictures of Celia. It becomes doubly odd when the shifter magically explodes. Compound that strange occurrence with Taran's nightmares about demons, dead bodies drained of blood, and the hint of dark magic in the air, and Celia knows that something strange is brewing once again in Lake Tahoe. She will not sit idly by and let the wolves take care of the problem, at least not when her family is threatened. What evil forces are at work? Where should they start looking?

As if Celia does not have enough on her plate struggling to protect her family from whatever evil has them in their sights, she also has to balance protecting her heart from the two very different men vying for her affection. One complication is Misha, a vampire who always seems to be around, lavishes her with gifts, and with whom she shares a special bond. The other distraction is Aric, a werewolf whose responsibilities keep him away, whose pack believes she is not pure enough, and the one who can so easily hold her heart. Matters become more complicated when shifters are found drained of blood and the vampires are blamed. Will Celia manage to keep the already shaky truce between the two men from completely crumbling? Will they recognize what's happening before everything is destroyed?

Cecy Robson doles out another wonderfully enticing paranormal treat. She not only serves up the usual suspects; weres, vampires, and witches which I adore, but she also spices it with her own unique creations which I found awesome. Celia and her sisters totally rock. Their close-knit family dynamic propels the story while their fierce protective natures provide some fun entertainment, and it so amusing to see their love interests push all those wrong buttons and testing their limits. I greedily devoured every last tasty crumb and I am eagerly waiting for the next serving to savor. A CURSED EMBRACE supplies readers with a healthy dose of humor, a heaping dash of the supernatural, and a pinch of mystery all laced with a heavy dollop of action. Ms. Robson knows how to combine all the best ingredients to keep her readers hooked and begging for another hit.
