MY KIND OF WONDERFUL is the second book in Jill Shalvis' new series, Cedar Ridge, about the Kincaid siblings. I really enjoyed this story because it's about how a young woman has been living with cancer since she was 15 years old. Now twenty-five, she is finally cancer free. She creates a bucket list of things she wants to do because she finally is free to live. The first thing on her list is to go skiing at Cedar Ridge. Her first experience finds her stuck on a ski slope where she is rescued by the sexy ski resort hottie, Hudson Kincaid. MY KIND OF WONDERFUL will keep you in stitches because of the Kincaid siblings, particularly the men. Even though they are grown men they are constantly pulling stunts on each other like teenagers. But the heart of the story is how a young woman for the first time takes full advantage of her second chance at life. She shows determination and strength with a lot of sass.

Hudson feels like he has to take care of everything, including his mother who is suffering from dementia, along with worrying about his twin brother that he had a major blow up with the last time they saw each other. Bailey and Hudson have instant chemistry but they have obstacles of their own invention to deal with.

The Kincaid family has an unusual family dynamic. They all have the same father with three different mothers. What makes this family so unusual is that one mother takes in all the illegitimate children and raises them as her own. Not only does the father leave the family but he leaves them deeply in debt where they struggle to save the family resort. There is no question of the love these siblings have for each other and how they protect each other.

MY KIND OF WONDERFUL is a great story about getting a second chance and realizing and taking advantage of the opportunities presented. It also shows the effects of dementia on the patient as well as the family and how they deal with it.
