Jillian Matthews, a wolf shifter, a former Army intelligence officer and an investigator had actually joined her brother for a little vacation but the local alpha asked for her to help the USF (United Shifter Force that is run by the recently found Jaguars) investigate some troubles. The accidental shooting of her brother by a "hunter" is one of them. She had no way of knowing she would soon come face to face with a very angry SEAL WOLF UNDERCOVER or find that he's also the fantasy guy she had been dreaming about.

Vaughn Greystroke, former SEAL and presently a P.I. Finds himself in the middle of a mess, his friend had been brutally attacked and he is going to help find the truth. When pack mate Douglas called to ask for help Vaughn was close by and willing. When he stumbles onto a wolf standing over a blood puddle that smells like his mate he gives chase ... only to be shot in wolf form. Later to come face to face with a woman he had been fantasizing about for six months. A she-wolf who shot him.

SEAL WOLF UNDERCOVER is fantastic fun written by author Terry Spear. Who else would have come up with the scenario of finding the love of your life by shooting him? Jillian and Vaughn had met across the room at a club, he with his friends and a date and she with her brother and a date. Bad timing. Now months later, she shoots a wolf chasing her brother who is in wolf form, only to wound, but she has no way of knowing who he is or why he gave chase. What a way to treat your future lover!

There is a lot that is going on in this book along with the romance and mystery of the attack on Douglas and the other unauthorized shootings and a strange Jaguar sighting. The characters of the USF, pack members of the area and medical personnel all had varied personalities that blended well, were realistic and added well to the storyline. I have to admit I loved Howard, one of the Jaguar agents, he was kind of quirky and funny and wanted to be around Jillian and Vaughn, because as he liked to be around the action and expected there to be a lot going on around this couple. The verbal sparring was fun even after the trust issues were settled and they started working together. I liked how Vaughn might not like it but he let Jillian do what she had to do as his partner. He is, after all, a typical alpha male who wants to keep his mate protected, but who else would have thought to buy her a coloring book. That was a part that I thought was really great when all of the USF members placed dibs on certain pictures.

SEAL WOLF UNDERCOVER has got to be in your hands if you want a steamy, sweet love story, with diverse action, multiple mysteries and of course a happily ever after.
