They were a family: Tallulah, the teenage mother of baby Noah, her baby's father Zach and Tallulah's mother, Kim. They lived together in Kim's house until the night Tallulah and Zach went missing.  Fourteen months later Shaun and Sophie move to this community and Sophie becomes immersed in the case.  Now considered to be a cold case, Kim is desperate for answers.  How could they have just vanished?  Unexpectedly, clues appear.  There must be someone who knows something.

Skillfully plotted, the narrative carefully reveals more and more of what happened prior to the couple's disappearance.  The characters are complex and flawed. Their relationships had many dimensions and were often toxic.  Even so, the disappearance just didn't make sense.  Both Tallulah and Zach adored Noah.  They would never have left willingly.

Filled with secrets and tension, this book is a true page-turner and keeps the reader engaged all the way to the surprise ending.  Highly recommended.
